I'm planning a trip to Europe, where I"m starting out in Barcelona, then flying out of Paris back to the states!

The trip will be around christmastime, and 10 days long... I was thinking 3 days in barcelona, 2 full days in Paris, anyone have any suggestions on where to go in between?

Right now I'm debating between Berlin, and Milan.

BTW - I'm a solo woman traveler. Please consider this when giving advice!

Can't see you having problems as a lone female. Europe is generally pretty safe. If you just do what you do at home then things should be fine.

What about a short flight to Marrakesh for a few days? Though some here may suggest you spend longer in the places you are already going to.

edit: Sorry. Welcome to the forum! ;)

You can see Milan in 2 days, while you would need 4 at least for Berlin. Unfortunately neither is on your route: why not 'do' Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges) in between?

thank you both for the replies!!

I've heard morroco isn't the safest place for solo women, thats why it wasn't on my list. I AM dying to go there at some point.

I've just been trying to pick easy places I can fly to, been looking around online and it seems like easy jet has some very cheap flights between the cities (less than 40USD one way) so I thought that might work for me... maybe belgium it will be...

How many days will I need for paris?

I know it's not in-between but the high-speed train between Barcelona and Madrid takes only three hours.

I'm with you on Morocco. Would love to go but a little nervous as a solo woman.

I would think Morocco is quite safe. Its been a touristic destination as long as Europe has. Just requires a bit more attention to surroundings in the port areas.

Neither Milan or Berlin are on your route. Altho Milan is not worth it anyway and Berlin is amazing but so far from where you are going.

Am I missing something tho cuz for me theres an obvious choice.... You are passing some great cities in France - Toulous, Bordeaux, Orleans. Why not spend a night in one of these cities on your way? Dont bother with another country. See France. Eat Baguettes. Drink wine. Look at Art. ;)

Im just wondering what the best way to travel is around there?

I just assumed flights might be the easiest for me. and with those super cheap european flights... thats where other cities came in!

Im seriously thinking Berlin might be it though... thank you all for all of the advice!

You can do both Berlin and Milan from Barcelona, with budget airline Easyjet. Fares are just so stupidly cheap.
If you fancy a little bit of the Eastern side of the world's most diverse and cultural continent, how about jumping aboard a Wizzair flight (again from Barcelona) and heading to a choice of one it's destinations from there - which 'All' go to Eastern Europe for around €30 one way.
There are a whole host of budget airlines flying out of Barcelona to all over Europe, from Portugal to Norway - for just a few €'s one way.
3 days in Barcelona, is well long enough - as long as you're up early. It's a fair size city of some 2,000,000 people and there's so much to see there.
I can't say too much about Milan, really. I wasn't that keen on it - so didn't stay too long. Best leave that for others to comment on.
As for Berlin.... Just an incredibly interesting city - and pretty much twice the size of Barcelona.
Sounds like the makings of a great little trip.

Flights arent as super cheap as they used to be. If I were you I would book NOW, the later you leave it the dearer they get. Trains are a great option in Europe.. I think Holland and belgium would be good options.
