THAILAND: May 19th - June 16th 2011

Hello everybody,

Today I booked my flights to Thailand! I am going Thurs 19th May (from London Heathrow) and returning on Thurs 16th June 2011.

2 of my friends are meant to be coming with me but both have said they can't come for the whole month, if they come at all. This is really sad but I am still holding out hope of them coming/ or winning the lottery so I can pay for both their tickets!

Is anyone going to be in Thailand at the same time that fancies meeting up? Or anyone thinking of going to Thailand but nobody to go with? I am a 22 (nearly 23) year old girl from Leicester in the UK, really sociable and easy going. I'm currently in my final year of an English Literature degree. Not into drugs or anything seedy but am a bit of a drinker and love the odd party! Want to experience as much as possible in Thailand in the month I have. Trekking, beaches, snorkelling, partying, shopping, sightseeing, visiting temples, maybe staying with a tribe.....anything!

I thought about doing thai intro...but my budget is £1000 for 4 weeks so this would be a big chunk out of my budget.

Anybody else flying solo that wants some company??!

I havnt booked flights or anything yet but I plan to go May/June to oz but want to stop over in thailand for 2/3 weeks. I will be flying into Bangkok.

My Budget is pretty tight also as I will be going onto Oz for another few months.

like yourself dont do drugs etc but am up for afew parties and want to make the most of it regarding sightseeing etc!

I am the same regarding friends not knowing of they can afford etc saying they will let me know. I dont want to hang around waiting for them!

As soon as I get my flights sorted (hopefully within the next week) hopefully we can perhaps meet up and find afew more recruits!

oh more importantly, I am 24 yr old female from Northern Ireland, who cannot wait to get out and see the big wide world

Oh this sounds brilliant, am glad you are interested in going at the same time! I am really worried that my friends won't come, but even if they do come (not too likely) we would all still be up for travelling with other people - that was our initial plan anyway and the reason I joined this site, to get a little group of us together!

Just thought I would update this today as I am enroute to booking flights, so its all coming into place!

Def def interesting in meeting up so I will let you know my dates etc and hopefully work something out and get afew plans/routes in place!

Im Juls from Belfast and Im 28 and Im heading to Thailand on 2 June for an 8 day tour...think im staying in Phuket for the first nite, then heading onto OZ and flying into Sydney and getting my records and all sorted then heading on a Greyhound Tour for 6 weeks hopefully il see most of oz cause what ive been hearing its a pretty hugh lol and ive a whv for a year.

Im also going on my own which is scary as you know but im really excited at meeting new people and having fun and sharing experiences. If anyone is going the same time as im going give me a shout and we can meet up.

Hello all!! Sorry I have only just seen all of your replies!!
Brilliant, a few of us are thinking of going at a similar time!
Cathy - I just messaged you about doing "Thaintro" but having just re-read your posts on here I can see you're on a tight budget too and only thinking of staying in Thailand for 2/3 weeks.. so I am guessing you might not want to do that?
The plan I had in my head if I didn't do thai intro was arrive in Bangkok Fri 20th May around 6pm..check into a hotel and crash out jetlagged. Next day, the fun can begin! Check into a hostel for 2 nights and sightsee around Bangkok/book a train to the south. Get a train to the south and ferries to a few islands, def want to see phi phi - heard accom is hard to get there?? so that might have to be a day trip from either Krabi or Phuket.
Spend about 8-10 days on the islands, then go back up to Bangkok to catch a train to the north for trekking/elephant sanctuary. Then train or flight back down to Bangkok, then home.
BUT this plan is TOTALLY flexible and as long as I get a mix of north and south, with a little bit of Bangkok craziness thrown in, I will be happy!

I'm a French 21 female, arriving in Bangkok June 6, 2011.

I would like if one of you plan to be in Koh Phi Phi around June 8 ? Because as I'm afraid that it will rain I prefer to go on the islands the sooner and then I will go to Chiang Mai, before going back to Bangkok as my flight back is on the 23rd.

Anyone interested to party in Koh Phi Phi for 3 or 4 days ?!

I am heading to thailand and indonesia this summer. I will be in ko phangan may 17th-22nd then to bangkok, so i will be in BK when you are there. Then I am headed to Phuket .. want to tag along for a week or so?? I'll be in that are till the end of May, then I am headed to Indo, and back in the states by June 8th.
