Hey All,

I'm flying to BKK in early April and spending bit over 2 weeks in Thailand. Will probably spend first 2 days in BKK and then off to see the islands down in south. I'd also love to see hill tribes up in North. Will I have time for this? Would Chiang Mai be the area to see them? I don't really have an itinerary what to see and do when I get to Thailand so any recommendations are welcome! :o)

After Thailand I'm off to Japan. I'm spending a night in Guangzhou (flight transit). Has anyone else been there before? I'll only arrive in the evening (8pm) and next flight departs at 2pm next day so probably won't have time to do any sightseeing?

In Japan I'll be meeting some friends and we'll head from Tokyo down to Osaka. Visit Kyoto, Nara, Kobe etc. Anyone who's been there; what kind of accommodation you have booked? We've got a week in Japan..not enough but at least we'll get a taste of how its like.

Then after Japan it'll be time for China. Definitely going to do the great wall and would also love to travel Xian to see the Terracotta army. I've got one week in China. Will this be enough time to do at least those two things? What else do you recommend to do and see in China?

Cheers guys! :)

I recommend that during 13-16 Apirl you must be in Ching Mai city because it Songkran day or our New years's day.^^ You would fun with slashing water tradition.
Travelling from BKK to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai and Bkk to Phuket or the South , they will take around 12 hours by bus and around 1-2 Hours by domestic plane . Thus , you can travel all within 2 weeks absolutely.
In fact, hill tribe is not really in Chiang Mai.If you want to visit hill tribe village, you can go to Chiang Rai which it's not far from Ching Mai. Thus , you can stay Chiang Mai and take one day trip to Ching Rai. In this day , you can visit Hotspring , Gloden Triangle , Mea sai (where you can shopping cheap and prirated things) and Then Long neck and Big ear Hilltribevillage.
Visit Mae Sa elephant camp or Doi tung in Chiang Rai.
