anyone going to thailand sept 2011

Hi,

I am going to Thailand from September 2nd to 16th. I am flying out of Los Angeles and traveling solo. I hope to meet some people who I can travel with. I don't have any plans yet but hope to visit Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.

Me and friend arrive in Bangkok - 25th Sept, both coming from Sunny Scotland.

We're getitng picked up from Airport from a group called
"Thai Intro" Looks really good and great way to meet other travellers. It's a week trip which takes you around some really cool places.

After that, we plan on travelling from Thailand through Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia until 24th November where we then fly to Sydney.

Would be great to meet others doing something similar.

I am travelling (alone) to Thailand (backpacking) on september for 3 weeks (flight goes sunday 28.08.11 from Germany) and I could use some advise about things to do and places to see. I will stay in Bangok for the first days and I will then head to that direction with best weather forecast... Do you have any tips for beaches/places to stay or suggestions for nice places? I do not really want to go to very touristic places... I'd rather would go to more quite beaches, with nice bars where I can meet nice people , not to busy places! Thanks for your recommendations! Maybe someone of you is there at the same time and wants to accompany me...?!

I'll be there from the middle of September until Mid October - as I'm currently doing some business in SE asia (yep backpacker to business over the years), but having been to Thailand at this point no less than 25 times in the past 5 years, I'm happy to offer some advice and maybe meet up if our schedules coincide.
