I am travelling to Melbourne in August this year alone and was wondering if anyone else is and if so are you just a little bit worried like I am!! Looking around this forum I can see that there are alot of people in the same boat but just putting it out there that if anyone feels like having at least one friend down there rather than none then drop me a line....

I have no solid plans yet but have booked my flight to melbourne on the 14h of Aug. I am thinking of going to St.Kilda as I friends of mine have been there and say that that is the best place to go!

Ya im thinking ill stay there when i get there as well which im hoping to be in May.
What did your friends say about it, is it true its the most lively? and is it easy to get to the city to go out from there?

Hey Aoife,
from what I have been told St.Kildas is the place to go. It has direct trams to the city centre which take around 20mins.
If your going in May you will have to let me know what you think and where you stayed!

not made any plans as yet Lauren and am pretty open to any ideas really! I know that internal flight from mel to syd are around £40 so pretty cheap really.
hopefully by then i would have settled in a bit and made some friends so if you wanted someone to meet in melbourne then maybe come there??

Im flying into melbourne 13th dec then moving up to sydney for xmas and new year, going alone totally shiiting myself now lol booked my glights on saturday, doin new zealand first tho.
Where will you be around xmas and new year? 
Im going to be in Melbourne until around the 12th of Dec when Ill be flying to Sydney for xmas & new years and then back to melbourne in the new year.
