Taupo is still the cheapest place to jump in NZ but I'd say Queenstown or Wanaka would probably be the prettiest.
Actually Rotorua is cheaper.

Which company in Rotorua? The two companies I checked in Taupo were both cheaper than NZone in Rotorua, assuming you are comparing prices of similar jumping heights.
Wow you're right. I hadn't checked in a year, but Rotorua had always been cheaper. I know the guy that owns two to the jumpsites in Taupo has now bought out the third so maybe he is putting on a price promo to crush them in Rotorua. But yeah for now Taupo is a deal. Plus its really nice on a clear day when you come in over the lake with the snow on Ruapehu.
I did skydive in Queenstown last year, I really recommend. The guys are very professional e organized.
Last month I did a ASL parachute jump in Brazil, It is much better than a doube jump.

I did a skydive at Taupo as well and it was the cheapest in NZ at the time. It was also a pretty nice view cos Lake Taupo is right next to Taupo, although having said that I don't think I was thinking about the view too much on the way down.
But I agree with bex76 that Wanaka would be a really cool place to do a skydive as Lake Wanaka and the general scenery around Wanaka in general are really nice. I actually thought Wanaka was much nicer than Queenstown in terms of scenery, although Queenstown was definitely more fun for going out.
