Hello,
I have just signed up to this site today as I have been feeling like a lost soul...... I am 100% sure I want to go travelling and have picked various destinations around the world- this is new to me though and I dont quite know where to start? I.e best time to go/how long for etc.
Have also looked at the couch surfin website as this seems a good idea to keep costs down? Dont know if any of you are aware of this or have used this and has opinions?
Any help on how to get started with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks. x

Hi
We have just returned from Oz after a 6 month trip which included the cricket and a lot of travel. We met some dutch and German travellers who were into the couch surfing thing and they loved it , the only drawback i can remember is that they found it difficult to move on as they had made such good friends with the hosts

Hello,
Thanks for response....yeah very good way of meeting new people- I guess there's always Facebook and/or e-mail if you don't want to lose touch! Oz is on the list (pretty sure it's on everyones though!)

You can make a judgement call on whether a particular host is safe or not. Each member has references. The more they host and vice versa the more references they'll get. If you stick with the ones that have good references then you should be quite safe. You could also meet up with them before deciding on whether to stay with them.
