Afternoon all,
Bit of a random question: I'm off travelling in around June, doing South America, Asia and Aus/Nz with a mate. We may however have come to a bit of a sticking point with regards the amount required for entrance into Aus'
Personally I should be fine, but my mate is bringing around £5000 total, but our initial plan involves doing Aus at the end, meaning that some of that will have been used in SA and Asia.
Ok, so that was more long-winded and waffley than I anticipated... Basically what I'm looking to find out is:
1) When is it that the amount of money you have is checked regarding Aus entry? Is it when you apply for the Visa, or when you go through customs etc? (or does it not actually really happen)
2) I know there's a few other similar threads on this already so I do apologise for asking the same question, it's more because it ties to the initial question which is my main concern, how much are we likely to need (ex flights) for accommodation, food and a reasonable time (as in, not out drinking 20 pints a night, but not just sat on the beaches doing nothing every day) for ~3 months in SA and ~3 months in Asia?
3) Will around £5k minus the answer to question two be enough to last a while in Aus subject to us getting jobs fairly rapidly?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
