I packed my bag yesterday and is is 14kg for a 1 year gap year in Thailand and Oz. Is this pretty average?

what are you taking?? im doing the same trip in 5 weeks x
I'd be here all afternoon writing my list! Clothes has been a bit of a sticking point cause oz isnt going to be that hot when I get there, so taking mostly summer stuff but some jeans and jumpers too. My bag is 60L and is pretty much full!

my bag was about 23kg last airport i checked into!!definitely not worth packing too much, there's nothing u can't buy anywhere in the world these days. as soon as i came travelling i wanted to buy new things so dont stress too much
torch is a must - make sure u have one!
14 is good; no worries!! You'll add to it as you go along as well probably, so good to stick under the limit of 20 which count on most flights these days 
14 is a pretty average weight for my pack. Keep it light I say. If it gets over 20 I find it can become a hassle on trains and buses or if you have to carry it a long way.

I've been calm up till now! Less than 3 weeks to go now and i'm starting to get super sressed!! Eeek!! Excited though

If you could limit your pack to half full or 2/3rd you might be better off .. but agreed. My pack usually weighs about 15-20kg.
I could fit a couple more things in, but not much. Hopefully after a few days i'll use things, or leave them if i decide i dont need them xx
