Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean South America/Argentina in 3 month

I'm planning on spending three months in South America some time between Nov-Feb

I'd like to visit Patagonia and other parts of Argentina and the Andes, but I'm wondering how realistic it is to see any other SA countries in that time? (I've not travelled over there before and I'm sure I'll underestimate the size of it)

If anyone can recommend any areas good for trekking (Torres del Paine and Fitz Roy already on the list), then that would be great too...

Also, are any of the months I'm travelling particularly good/bad for certain areas - re weather/list of tourists/hard to find accommodation etc?

Thanks a lot

Depending on where you go in South America at that time of year, you can have sun or rain. The internet has numerous sites dealing with the weather in SA countries.

3 months you can see an awful lot of South America and most people could fit in 5 or more of them in that time.

Accommodation should only be hard to find if there is a festival, holiday or celebration on in the area.

I concur. You could see a couple of countries in three months, easily. There is lots of beauty in Argentina, but there's also a great plain with nothing on it to see...I speak of the distance between Mendoza and BsAs....Even Mendoza can be skipped because, at the end of the day, it's just a town. You could see Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil in that time.

Have a good trip

Hey Justin,

I am just about to book the same destination for the same time. but I am still hesitating, because I still believe and want to believe in the possibility to rent or buy&sell a jeep there. so I'd like to figure that out before. you any interested in this?

I am more the relaxed guy, I don't like rushing from hostel to hostel, only staying a night, in nice places, which are usually a little remote , I also could stay a couple of days, hanging out, reading, photographing, writing. then, of course, from time to time a big bang party is a nice alternation to a slow travelling rhythm.
