I love Sheffield, quite a vibrant city, lots of nice bars and restaurants, art galleries, etc. The beautiful countryside of the Peak District is on its doorstep, and as it is a huge student city it is relatively cheap.

Id Say Edinburgh although it is the 2nd most expensive city after London. So Cardiff would probably be the best option as it is close the the Mountains & it has great nightlife.

Brighton is excellent, it has a great Museum & Art Gallery, but also has lots of independent galleries that pop-up around the place. It has great vintage shops, a great nightlife and is one of the most welcoming places I've lived in England (although I no longer live there). It's also great in the summer.

But along with that is that it's not that cheap to live and sometimes hard to get a job. If you found work there though, you'd love it.

Remember that getting a job is vitally important, with London being the most obvious choice for that. I would suggest London as the best place to go as it has everything you want, but also remember that it is also the most expensive city in the UK!

The best place to live in uk is Truro. The centre of visiting, vacation and management for the county of Cornwall, Truro is a busy church and market town with charming cobbled streets, Georgian structural design and a lot of places of attentions including the Royal Cornwall museum.

Not that I am biased or anything but has to be Edinburgh. Lovely city, great nightlife and plenty of art galleries, museums, etc to visit and a lot of them are free. Also a year round destination so finding a job should not be too difficult.
