Hey everyone,

I plan to do the 14-day trek with Sherpas to Mt. Everest Base Camp. I was wondering if anyone would like to join me in May 2012? It would be a lot cheaper if we went as a group.

Let me know if you are interested!

I have to say that I have some mountaineer experience by living in Switzerland and being in the army helps me in the wilderness and trekking.. Ill suggest to get a guide if you are likely to have problems with high altitude sickness, so you can count on him if you don't feel well. For your wallet the best option is to get a guide after landing in Lukla..but of course is much more easy if you book everything from the states but expensivier..
If you don't find no-one else, you can be sure the tour operator will have other trekkers on list.
I have all the equipment, mostly army gear and army food supplies, and Ill have a tent with me just in case..
I'm planning to get a guide only if once there the weather is bad, otherwise i wont need it.
If you need anything just contact me.

Hi Swiss,

Can you please share your itineary , it probably help me to design mine. Fom where u got your tickets booked for Lukla ??

Hi all,

we (my husband & I in our late 20's) are in the same boat actually.........deciding when and where to book the tours is such a headache! Everyone we know who have previously been, have pre booked their EBC treks with small tour groups (and paid a fortune). Ideally it sounds a lot more fun experiencing this journey with other energetic & positive people, but it seems however that the tour packages a lot more expensive than when you book it locally....
So have you found yourselves some travel buddies yet?
