Hi Guys,

I am travelling to Germany in late March where I will be living for 12 months and I have no idea what clothes to pack for the weather conditions. I live in a sub-tropical climate where you bearly hear the word jacket or sweater because it is always so hot. I'm a little worried with the whole snow issue. :-)

Any tips would be gladly welcomed!!!

Thanks heaps!!

you will definitely need worm clothing even in March - the winter came late this year and might stay for a sometime.

most probably you won't find proper stuff in your own country - buy them in Germany.

you will enjoy snow

it depends where you're staying at in Germany. Snow is only a consistent phenomena in the south of Germany (Bavaria/the alps etc).
Since Germany has 4 different seasons, it is advisable to have at least 3 different kinds of clothes. Warm jacket/pants/scarf etc. for the wintertime and light rain jacket/sweater for spring and autumn. Eventually short pants and t-shirts for the summertime, which you, as an Australian, surely have. As was already mentioned in the previous reply you can buy all that stuff in Germany, which is recommendable but it's also likely that prices are much more expensive than in Australia, because of the strong Euro exchange rates at the moment.

Won't be wrong to pack clothes for every kind of weather! In the moment it's still very cold here, but in summer the temperatures reach up to more than 35 degrees! So you can expect everything! ;)
