Seeking awesome travelling buddies for the States 2012

Hi there,

I am a 26 year old Irish female living in New York. I have been here since November, but what I really want to do is go travelling around the States. I want to go all over and see as much as possible as this will be the last chance before I go home and have to get a grown up job! I am planning to do it on a budget so I will be busing and hosteling it as much as possible. I don't drive....I did try to learn two months before moving...and failed but I would be happy to travel with someone who does drive and split the cost.

I am staying in New York till the end of March and have planned to head to Boston at the start of April and from there I have no concrete plans apart from having the trip of a lifetime So if anyone is also thinking of travelling North America from April onwards let me know. I'll be travelling for a couple of months so if you're only over for a short time we still might be able to meet up. It would be great to share this experience with someone else but even better if there was a crew! Sure send me a message and let me know if you're interested.

I (23y/o Brit male) am currently hashing together a trip to the States around May time for a couple of months. A bit later than you but have no concrete plans either so we should try and meet and start the crew!

That sounds like a plan to me! Have you any plans of which part of the States you want to travel around? Well if there is driving in the future I am a good map reader so at least I bring something to the table! If you prefer you can just pm me the details.

Have you got any further with your plans?
I am from Berkshire in England and am going to LA at the end of March. I have 2 weeks on a tour with STA travel on 31st March- 14th April and then am in LA until 28th April where I fly out to New Zealand for 8 months.

I am just booking into various hostels around LA but have no plans for the 2 weeks I am there, so if you were any where near the area around that time it would be nice to know at least one person would be there with the same thoughts as me!

Let me know your plans, nothing of mine is set in stone apart from I have to be on a plane on 28th April from LAX lol

Hey Manda,

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you...it's been a bit of a manic week here. I'm afraid I don't leave New York until April and I'll be travelling on the wrong coast! I decided to try and see as much of the East Coast as possible before heading over to the West.

It would have been cool if we could have met up but if you're staying in hostels I'm sure there'll be a couple of people on a similar buzz while you're there. I found this was the case when I was in San Fran last year. I stayed in the Green Tortoise hostel I don't now if there's an LA one but if there is I would recommend staying there as it has a friendly vibe and even free dinner 3 nights a week...who can say no to that!?

Have an amazing time and both in LA and NZ!
