I have heard that Bolivia is not expensive. In Guatemala which I just have visited has good prices and I have heard that Moldavia is not expensive and Slovakia where I have been has good prices.
Happy traveling

It's great to throw out your votes, it would be even better if you can back that up with at least one data point for comparison!

For example, I am looking at going to Bangkok, Thailand in a few weeks and want to try to use AirBnB. When I plugged in my dates and that I wanted a complete condo/apt, I was blown away to find *10* furnished places, many brand new for $25 USD per night or less. The lowest is $12 USD per night. Now that seems cheap to me!

Great list from everyone!

I love Mexico City even though it gets a bad rep. Ate and traveled very well for relatively cheap.

Quoting LesCrazy

which part of Croatia do you recommend?

For me, two things in Croatia stuck out -

1. The coastal drive from Dubrovnik to Split. One of the most attractive roads to drive I've been on so far.
2. Plitvice Lakes is just absolutely stunning. The pictures do not lie.

There's plenty to see though and a lot of it I didn't see when we were there, but those two stuck out.

Also, I don't think it's really that cheap anymore when compared to other Eastern European countries.

I understand Mexico is rather cheap these days. Generally, when perceptions of safety are not good, prices go down... In the case of Mexico, I think if you stick to the right areas, it's perfectly safe, yet quite affordable.
