Backpacker-scene June-August in Cambodja, Vietnam, Thailand

Hi everyone!

I am thinking to travel to Laos, Cambodja, Vietnam and Thailand for approximately 2 months in June, July and first part of August. I know that a lot of these countries have their rain season during this period.
It is not so much the weather that concerns me, but more the backpacker-scene during this time of year. As I've travelled to Australia, New Zealand and Bali before I am used to meeting a lot of like minded backpackers and having an extremely social trip. I am worried that a trip to Thailand, Laos, Cambodja in June-August will in this respect be a dissapointment as the majority of backpackers will travel in a different time of year and not during the months June-August. Could someone tell me how the backpacker-scene is overthere during these months, are there a lot of backpackers? Is it considerably less that from January to March? When would u guys recommend me to travel? How is the party-scene in this period (I am used to and like the backpacker-parties)?
And, is the weather really that bad during the rain season?

Im hoping to do a similar trip, start of July to end/midway of august. I have heard there is less people there, hopefulyl not so few the places feel empty, we need some kind of party scene there. message me on exact dates locations and maybe we can try and get a group together,

I'm going to Thailand for a month then to Cambodia from June. I know it's rain season but I'm also hoping that it's not totally deserted so we can meet people. As its my first time travelling I can't help on the other questions.

Vietnam in June, July is not rainy season. It rains heavily about 1 hour and stop. the weather is hot and sunny. It is fine. However, July and Aug are high season for internal tourists. people often spend summer holidays/vacations at beaches. services prices are also expensive. In Phu Quoc, Dalat, Mui Ne, Nha Trang and other beautiful beaches in Vietnam, there are a lot of tourists. Do you travel with local Agents or on Budget?

hi jake, im planning this july to have a 6 country trip in southeast asia (saigon-siem reap-bangkok-yangon-kuala lumpur-vientiane) and looking for someone who will share with the cab's fare hehe. im from manila,philippines and its rains usually sept and october for the past 3 years

Im Gonna be arriving in Vietnam from from China on the 15th June & then onto Cambodia in July & laos & Thailand in August & September.Maybe ill see you guys around :D

stay more in thailand, khoasan road is very crazy...you will enjoy this place if you are looking for partyhard location to stay..

Im going back to Thailand this summer! (and Laos etc) Will be my 4th time.

Personally, I think there is a larger backpacker scene from May onwards anyway as everyone has just finished Uni. The high season is so called as there are more family tourists then.

Been to quite a few full moons and it has been packed everytime. Trust me, there will be A LOT of people!
