Hi,

Where do I start?? I'll try to keep this concise. I'm British born with Pakistani heritage courtesy of my parents. I have recently applied for an Indian Visa at VFS Birmingham who handled my application. What a stressful experience that was!! They requested far more documents than I envisaged - the extras not denoted on their website.

Anyways, I had no option but to sign a document to advise it will take 45 days to process my application as I have Pakistani heritage and extra checks need to be conducted. I fully understand the reasons behind this but feel somewhat discriminated by this. I kinda feel my circumstances will count against me ie by having Pakistani heritage, visited Pakistan several times in last few years and have travelled to China who India don't have the greatest of relationships with

My question is, has anyone else been in a similar situation and how successful was their visa application given their backgrounds?? I have to wait till the end of November to find out, but will be severely disappointed if I am not granted a visa to see a truly magnificent country.

I'm waiting anxiously now. Thanks in advance, Mohson.
