I am travelling to Sasan Gir and then to Diu in the 1st half of may. I live in Bangalore and am travelling by flight via Bombay to Rajkot. What is the best and comfortable mode of transport from Rajkot to Sasan Gir and what would be the appromixate cost. After spending about a week to ten days at Sasan Gir, we plan to spend a couple of days at Diu. We have still not decided on the hotel to stay and also don't know which beaches there are the best to enjoy a nice swim. Also, if you could give me ideas on transportation possibilities from Sasan Gir to Diu, it would be greatly appreciated.

As far as a place to stay in Diu, I would recommend the Hoka resort. It is very comfortable and is run by a cool guy. He is the best person to ask about beaches. Look up Hoka resort on google. If you have no luck with that, send me a personal message and I can dig the number out for you. Hope this helps.

Take care,

In Sasan, there are a couple of resorts just before the jungle starts. There is a shereton there, I guess. Or a Taj, I am not exactly sure but one of those five stars has a place there. They may be a li'll costly but have good safari jeeps and good guides. Everytime I've been there I have stayed in the forest guest house called "Sinh Sadan", which is not bad either.

In Div, if you are travelling light and want a cheap hotel, just walk by the port area and main market ... there are lots of cheap hotels to stay ..

Rajkot to Sasan is bit of a long drive. If you have your own car its the best and the most comfortable. I dont think there are any luxary busses betn Sasan and Rajkot but I am sure there are between Junagarh and Rajkot. Junagarh to Sasan is about 50 - 60 kms and you can find bus/taxis to take you there.
