Hey guys!
Im new to the forum and dont really know where to start so Ive started my own thread!
Im really interested in travelling and want to visit Thailand and Australia.. ideally Thailand for a few weeks and the off to Australia to explore, party and find work! Ive not made any plans yet but I am planning well in advance in order to save up plenty of money and give myself lots of time to get organised.
I would like to hear from anyone who had been who can share their stories and travel tips but I would also like to hear from anyone else travelling!! I would love to meet up with a few people travelling over around the same time.
Ive not made set plans or decided where I want to visit exactly, I guess im looking for a little help!

Im pretty much in the same boat as although im not really planning on going Thailand. Im planning to leave in September and head straight to Sydney and earn some money there before go off traveling around the rest of oz working along the way to fund my trip.
im also going on my own and has its starting to get closer im thinking i need to actually make some plans

Hey! I'm also a first time traveller however I have been to Melbourne before which is where I'm starting my trip on October 10th! I'm staying there for 11 days too see family/friends then I am flying up to Cairns to meet a friend and we are going on one of the hop on hop off busses ( Greyhound route) which takes us down from Cairns to Sydney. We arrive in Sydney on Christmas eve and have booked 9 nights accommodation in the ' Woodduck Hostel' , so we are also there for NYE! However from the 2nd jan onwards I'm going to be all by myself in Sydney with no plans as my buddy is leaving me to go to South America! I'll have a working holiday visa so hopefully going to start working in Sydney or maybe travel back up to Surfers Paradise as I've heard it's super easy to get work there

Hey guys thanks for replying! just realised this post was Australia 2012.. glad you all knew what i meant!! 
Im so jealous you guys are off this year.. i would love to just pack up and go but i need to save enough money first to support myself. Have you guys heard anything about how hard it is to get a job and accommodation?
I have family in Melbourne so i would love to visit them!
Unfortunately it look like it'll be this time next year before im ready and set to go! I have no idea how much to save but i suppose you can never have too much over there eh?
