I remember when i was six my aunt took me to Dublin on a plane from Shannon.(birthday present) It's only about a 30 minute flight but that was 20 years ago. No-one my age even knew what a plan looked like up close. I was so excited!!

First international travel - I didn't travel overseas until I was 11 and my family moved from Shanghai, China, to San Francisco. One of my mom's old college friends was working at the airport at the time and switched our coach tickets to first class tickets! It was my first time on board of a plane and also my first and only time in first class. It was SWEET! As a consequence, I was under the mistaken impression that air travel was comfortable and fun. As soon as I arrived in San Fran, I witnessed 2 bearded men kissing in the airport. I had never heard of homesexuals before, so I was rightly shocked by what I saw. In fact, I was so shocked and confused, coupled with excitement and slight motion-sickness, that I puked!

the first trip i remember was my third birthday going from dublin to liverpool to visit my granny, i remember it because i bugged the airhostesses for the whole flight which felt like a life time with '' its my birthday, did you buy me a present, my granny did, i'm going to her house to get it, i hope its a pony'', i remember when we landed a woman in front of me screamed, and in a very loud voice, shouting i embarressed my mam and dad with a ''were you scared, i don't like your bag, you could have just got sick in it'' all in space of a few seconds, i have improved on planes i promise !!!! ...... i've been told though that my first trip was the same journey at just over 4 months, but i wouldn't remember that even though my family insists i should ,

Don't think this counts as a travel memory, but when my family came homr from Cyprus, it was December and my gran had filled his head with the story of Jesus being born, teken him to a nativity play at the local church etc. Down the local supermarket my brother (who was 4 at the time) saw 3 Sikhs with their turbans on (first time he had witnessed a Sikh) and started shouting at the top of his voice that the 3 wise men were in the shop. My mum was quite embarrassed, but it was all taken in good humour by 'the three wise men'. Just remember that being a first experience of a religion/culture that i had not seen before.

My first travel-related memory was when I was 4 and our preschool took a "trip" on the suburban trains in Montreal. I though the trees were so pretty. :)

As for an actual trip, I went to Toronto when I was eight and I made my dad come on a rollercoaster with me because I had never been on one, and I was so scared that I dug my head in his arm the whole time! LOL, he was mad at me for doing that because I wasn't sitting properly in the rollercoaster car and he didn't want me (or him) to get hurt. All was well and he never went on a rollercoaster with me again. Although now, I love them!

Katie ;)

All my travel memories revolve around camping. My father is a die hard my brother, sister and I were camping since we were born until we got too old and it was uncool to hang out with your parents. We did the beach in the summers and the country in the winters. I know everything there is to know about camping and basic survival.

Aside from that, my first memory of going away was to a trip to the Andes (by car) and getting really sick because of a combination of altitude and motion sickness. We made a pit stop and when I got out of the car, everything smelled bad and I felt really dizzy. I was very young, I think 5 or so...

I moved a lot with my parents and brother when I was a child... So I was actually travelling from 2 month old!! (Argentine's Northwest, Brazil, Bahamas, Canada, France, Italy...) But I don't remember that, although my parents insist that I should, and showed me thousands of pictures to proove it!!

My really first travel memory is taking a night train with my father and brother from Paris (where we were living at that time) to go visit cousins in Belgium... a very vague memory of that trip, only that it snowed over there and my brother and I were so excited that we wanted to play with the snow without gloves... 5 minutes later we were crying because the cold was hurting!! My father though it was so funny that he took pictures of us crying...

when i was a child. my family decided to take a road trip to canada. it was a three day trip from california. anyway, there was five of us total with all of our sleeping bags, pillows, and cookery. we ate mostly korean food, which is yummy, but in a hot moving vehicle can be gross.

on top of that we are in a four door cadillac seville and my youngest sister has a bad case of motion sickness. i believe she threw up every three hours. it was so bad she wanted to live in canada and not travel back home. oh by the way. my mom would scream to me to "catch it" and im not talking about playing games. it was ick.

My first clear memory would be the house in Spain where me and my parents spent a few holidays when I was 4, 5 and 6 years old. I clearly remember the garden very well. I also remember a waterfall and a square full of fountains in Malaga, which was close to the town where we stayed. And once my nephew travelled with us, I remember a huge argument with him over a damaged toy creature :)

I also very vaguely remember a hotel in Dijon where I stayed a week with my mom when I was 5 or 6. But this is a very vague memory and I don't remember anymore what the city looks like :(

First very clear memories: holiday in Spain (Alfaz del Pi) when I was 12 or 13. Very nice holiday.
