I am booked in a hostel for a couple nights over xmas in Sydney but nothing for new year any body after a flat share for a month or something?

im visiting friends in perth at christmas but thinking of flying over to sydney for new year if fancy meeting for couple of beers? I will no doubt need to book some where to stay too!
