Ok, I am not going to be in Paris on New Years Eve, I am going to be in Dublin, Ireland. I love Ireland and I have never been to Ireland and I am SO EXCITED!!!

I am not a drinker and I don't go to clubs. Is there anyone out me...who might have a suggestion or two on what there is to do on NYE?

Hi Heather!

Good choice. There are a lot of New Years Eve balls on around the city - black tie affairs - very civilised. You might enjoy one of those Friends of mine went to one last year and had a great time.

Alternatively, closer to the time you could look into what sort of parties are being hosted in the various hotels around the city. Some of them are meant to be quite good! Or, for example, every year there is a NY Eve party in the National Concert Hall.

Dublin is a good spot for NY Eve - mightnt be as romantic as Paris maybe, but you're guaranteed a good time!;)

hey heatherha!
i went to ireland a couple years ago with my mom, and neither of us were drinking, but i gotta tell you, the environment in some of those irish pubs is incredible! its not so much the drinking (although to some, thats a big part), but its the lively traditional music, the candle-lit atmosphere, and the socialising with the locals that make the experience worthwhile!
however, if you really prefer not to go into pubs at all, then try a local youth hostel (or more commonly, a tourist info office), they usually have ideas as to what's going on in town or what kind of events are happening...
hopefully you get a chance to connect with the irish spirit and the incredibly charming people of ireland!;)
