Buying Travel Insurance

Travel Guide Buying Travel Insurance

Buying travel insurance can seem a little daunting but it's a must-do for any trip and a small price to pay for piece of mind. To break it down, most travel insurance policies (especially in the US), fall into three categories: bundled travel insurance policies, custom travel insurance policies and flexible travel insurance policies.

  • Bundled travel insurance can include medical expenses, accidental death, baggage claim loss, etc.
  • Custom travel insurance is similar to the bundled one but you are able to customise the insurance to fit your needs.
  • Flexi-travel insurance allows you the flexibility to choose what you want the insurance policy to cover. This can help you can benefit from a lower premium.

It is worth mentioning that if you have home or life insurance, you may already be covered for your trip, so it is worth contacting them and find out exactly what your policy covers for the trip.
