Camaguey (Province)

Travel Guide Caribbean Cuba Camaguey

edit

Introduction

The Camaguay Province is noticeably flat, broken up only by palm trees and the abundance of sugar growing is due to the fertile land of the area. It has a very rural feel to it, as it is home to herds of cattle which are speficially bred for their beef and milk. The city of Camaguey was one of the most important cities in the colonial period.

Camaguey also boasts one of Cuba's most attractive beach resorts, Santa Lucia, which attracts tourists all year round.
