Fuerteventura Airport
Travel Guide Europe Spain Canary Islands Fuerteventura Fuerteventura Airport
Introduction
Fuerteventura Airport (FUE) has flights arrive from most major destinations within Europe on a daily basis, with budget options including flights with Ryanair. The airport is situated just outside the islands capital of Puerto del Rosario, half way down the island on the east coast.
This airport is classed as the 10th business airport in Spain with passenger numbers of just over 5 million in 2015 and 5.6 million in 2016.
There is one terminal building with two floors. The ground floor has two sections, with one section allocated for flight arrivals, and the other for flight departures. The first floor consists of the departures lounge and 24 boarding gates.

Getting there and away
Fuerteventura has no rail network, but the island has an efficient bus network and plenty of taxis to get to and from the airport.
Buses: There are three bus routes that stop at the airport:
- Route 3 – This travels north to Puerto del Rosario and south to Caleta de Fuste.
- Route 10 – This travels north to Puerto del Rosario and south to Morro Jable.
- Route 16 - This travels north to Puerto del Rosario and south to Gran Tarajal.
Taxis: All the taxis on the island are licenced, so they all have meters and the government sets the rates. Rates are set at €0.55 per kilometre on a weekday between 06:00 and 22:00. At any other time, the rate is €0.63 per kilometre. On top of this, there is also a minimum charge, a waiting charge (in case you are stuck in traffic) and an airport surcharge of €1.70.
