Introduction

Pipa Beach (Praia de Pipa in Portuguese) is one of the most famous beaches of Brazil. It is located next to the city of Natal, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. More precisely, it is located in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, exactly 84 kilometres from the capital. The beach town is situated in the biggest ecological sanctuary in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, chosen by “Guia 4 Rodas” (the most respected travel book in Brazil) as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in Brazil, Pipa became famous in the 1980’s thanks to the surfers who discovered its delights.

Even on arrival, from the road you are bewitched by beaches with clear, warm waters, immense coconut palms plantations, natural pools and viewpoints, impressive cliffs, some still covered by Atlantic Forest, white sand dunes, coves and precipices.

Still, the in-crowd say Pipa is best at night… there’s always something going on!
