Introduction

Vilnius International Airport (VNO) is located about 6 kilometres from Vilnius and it's one of three international airports in the country.

Getting there and away

  • Train: Direct train services between Vilnius Airport Railway Station and the central station of Vilnius started in October 2008, It is the fastest way and train run daily from about 6:30am to 7:30pm. The train shuttles 16 times a day, it takes 7 minutes to arrive to the airport from the railway station. The ticket costs EUR 0.70. It can be purchased on-line, in the train and at the railway station. Next to the airport passenger terminal, there is a railway stop, stairs and an elevator for passengers as well as lighting and passenger safety surveillance camera. There is a footway leading from the railway stop to the airport terminal for passengers; the footway has an installed gallery (it is illuminated during the dark time of the day).
  • Bus: Buses that run to Vilnius airport from Vilnius city: No. 1 (Station-Vikingų St.- Airport), No. 2 (Station-Liepkalnio St.-Vikingų St.-Airport), No. 3G (Fabijoniškės-Centre-Airport), No. 88 (Airport-Station-Old Town-Nepriklausomybės Square) Single ticket (when purchased in a bus) costs EUR 1.
  • Microbus: The company Toks transports passengers from the bus station to Vilnius airport and back by microbuses. Single ticket costs EUR 2. Bus stop is installed next to the airport terminal, near arrival hall C.
  • Car Rental: car rental facilities are widely available at the airport.
  • Taxi: Most popular routes and their rates: Vilnius Airport – Old Town (Cathedral Square) – ca. 10 EUR; Vilnius Airport – Konstitucijos avenue – ca. EUR 12; Vilnius Airport – Litexpo Exhibition and Congress Centre – ca. EUR 9; Vilnius Airport – Hospital Santariskiu Klinikos – ca. 18 EUR.
  • Intercity Bus: there are various bus services that run to/from Kaunas, Klaipeda and Palanga, Pasvalys and Panevezys, Minsk in Belarus, Riga in Latvia.

Wizzair flies to various European destinations as well as Agadir and Tel Aviv.

Ukraine Airlines flies to Kiev and Odessa in Ukraine.
Norwegian flies to Oslo and Stockholm.
LOT flies to Tallinn and Warsaw.
