La-Roque-Gageac, a Plus Beau Village of France, France

We fell in love with La Roque years ago and keep returning. It's really only two real streets but it sits on the cliff overlooking the river Dordogne and is absolutely stunning. It is also very friendly and there are cute shops, an interesting church, a château, troglodyte dwellings, gabare rides on the river, a botanical garden and nice restaurants. Oh yes, a very good glacier if you like ice cream . . .
