Surveyor's Chain in the Beck Isle Museum

Surveyor's Chain in the Beck Isle Museum, United Kingdom

Gunter's Chain used by Surveyors in times gone by. Our daughters are both Geomatics engineers so we always photograph anything to do with surveying we find on our travels. We walked back past The Rose Inn, across the bridge to the Beck Isle Museum, paid and entered. They have a bit of everything including entire rooms and historic shop interiors. The outside features antique farm equipment in the back and a lovely view of the bridge and Pickering Beck (river) in the front. This area was badly flooded in 2007 and there are photographs in the museum of the flooding. It is called Beck Isle Museum because the museum is literally on an island during high water when it floods.
