Rose Window at Basilica Ste. Clotilde in Paris, France

Ste. Clotilde was consecrated on the 30th November 1857 and dedicated to Ste. Clotilde, wife of Clovis, the first Christian King of France, and to Ste. Valerie. In 1897, 1,400 years after the baptism of Clovis, the sanctuary was granted the status of minor basilica by Pope Leon XIII. The style is neo-Gothic and walking into the church is a thrill. There are also free organ recitals on the famous organ after the 11 AM Mass each Sunday and the church is a venue for many concerts. We attended the Faur├ęk "Requiem" there on our first night in Paris on one visit. What a great way to start a visit to Paris!
