Middle Street walking from Montacute House to the Kings Arms Inn by Beausoleil
The tea room at Montacute House didn't seem very appealing to us so we asked about local restaurants and The Kings Arms Inn was recommended. It was a short walk out the parking lot and up Middle street. You could see it at the end of the street. Great motivation . . . lunch.

Montacute House Gardens - the famous wibbly wobbly hedges by Beausoleil
These were normal flat yew hedges until the harsh winter of 1947 when snow lay thick for weeks and the flat tops collapsed under all the weight of the snow. Rather than take out the hedges they simply trimmed them into the shape you see today and enjoy them as wibbly wobbly hedges.
