Rue de Turbigo has an angelic caryatid by Beausoleil

We always look for caryatids and found an angel caryatid on rue de Turbigo when we veered off our walking route. We were trying to get to the Beaubourg and made a slight detour. Sometimes detours are fun.

Montparnasse Cemetery in Paris - My personal favorite grave marker by Beausoleil

Montparnasse Cemetery, the second largest cemetery in Paris after the Père Lachaise. It is planted with over 750 trees and bushes so a very relaxing place for a walk. It consists of two cemeteries separated by rue Emile Richard. The eastern section is the Petit Cimetière and the larger section is the Grand Cimetière. The Grand Cimetière is laid out around a central lawn where the allegorical statue of the Génie du Sommeil Eternel (Angel of Eternal Sleep) created in 1902 by the sculptor Horace Daillion marks the center of the lawn. You can get a map and look for famous graves. People to look for are Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre buried together, Guy de Maupassant, Samuel Beckett who wrote "Waiting for Godot," Bartholdi who designed the Statue of Liberty, composer Camille Saint-Saëns, French singer Serge Gainsbourg and American actress Jean Seberg.
