A lovely town with an amazing Basilique.
Basilique Sainte-Thérèse de Lisieux - A visiting group from Brittany with their flag by Beausoleil
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was canonized in 1925 and the Basilique was started in 1929 and while blessed in 1937 and in use was not completed and consecrated until 1954 so it is a recent building as famous French churches go. We happened into a special Mass for a festival of some sort that continued into October. The Mass was attended by close to 4000 people, the capacity of the basilica. There was a procession carrying a reliquary at the beginning of the Mass and at the end rose petals fell from the dome during the procession. It was an amazing experience and one we were not expecting.

Basilique Notre-Dame-de Déliverance in Quintin by Beausoleil
We walked past this basilique down some steps to a recommended restaurant so when we returned to our car, we decided to go into the church and see what it looked like. Very pretty and lovely stained glass. There was a nice fountain outside with an explanation board giving the history of the church.

Basilique Sacré-Cœur on Montmartre in Paris from Place St.-Pierre by Beausoleil
Shining white Travertine marble on the highest hill in Paris, Sacré-Cœur can be seen from almost anyplace in the city. When you climb the steps up to the Basilica, you have wonderful views over Paris. The basilica itself is Byzantine in style and rather dark inside. No photos are allowed but no one seems to pay much attention to this rule and the ushers have nearly given up asking people not to take pictures since mobile phones have come into widespread use.

Main Altar at Basilica Ste. Clotilde in Paris by Beausoleil
Ste. Clotilde was consecrated on the 30th November 1857 and dedicated to Ste. Clotilde, wife of Clovis, the first Christian King of France, and to Ste. Valerie. In 1897, 1,400 years after the baptism of Clovis, the sanctuary was granted the status of minor basilica by Pope Leon XIII. The style is neo-Gothic and walking into the church is a thrill. There are also free organ recitals on the famous organ after the 11 AM Mass each Sunday and the church is a venue for many concerts. We attended the Faurék "Requiem" there on our first night in Paris on one visit. What a great way to start a visit to Paris!
