Entrance to the Marché Poésie by Beausoleil
The Marché Poésie fills the Place Saint Sulpice in front of the famous church each spring. This also covers the beautiful Fontaine Saint-Sulpice (alternatively known as the Fountain of the Orators or the Fountain of the Bishops) so the poets placed a picture of the fountain where you would normally actually see it. A nice idea but the fountain is prettier. The Marché Poésie is great fun if you are ever in Paris while it is happening. Stop and chat with the vendors and you may be given a free book . . . in French of course.

Lines at the Musée d'Orsay by Beausoleil
For some reason they opened 25 minutes late and there were lines before the regular opening time. The lines only got longer but everyone seemed to be relatively cheerful about it. As at the Vuitton a few days ago, the longest lines were for people who had purchased tickets ahead of time. Everyone is trying so hard to beat the lines that they are creating their own lines. I'm not sure how you get around that since everyone has to go through Security. What we found odd later was there were lines to get out of the museum. The doors would only let five people out at a time. Not a great idea . . .
Entrance to the Delacroix Museum by Beausoleil
This entrance is hidden inside 6 rue Fürstenberg. They do finally have signs outside that make you feel better about going into the empty courtyard. The museum is free on the first Sunday of the month and there is a lovely garden inside. It's a small museum but very nicely done.

Musée d’Archéologie Nationale et Domaine National de Saint-Germain-en-Laye by Beausoleil
After lunch, we returned to the Archeology Museum and continued our way through the exhibits. The entire museum really is a full day if there is a special exhibit or if you are interested in paleontology . . . or both.

Musée d’Archéologie Nationale et Domaine National de Saint-Germain-en-Laye by Beausoleil
We were visiting the Archeology Museum for a special exhibit "Henri II Renaissance à Saint-Germain-en-Laye" as we had just finished a book about Henri II and this was very timely. We also hadn't visited the regular exhibits at the museum since it was closed the last time we were in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. We managed both in one day!

Walking past the Garnier Opera by Beausoleil
We were walking to the Auber RER station and couldn't resist taking a picture of the beautiful Garnier Opera in Paris. The RER entrance about a half block further on rue Auber is the ugliest building within blocks. You can't miss it. The Palais Garnier, on the other hand, is stunning.

Detail on the Entry of Ste. Clothilde Church in Paris by Beausoleil
Ste. Clothilde is a beautiful neo-Gothic church with a magnificent organ. There is often a recital before or after Mass and there are evening concerts at the church. We attended a Fauré "Requiem" on one of our first nights there on one trip. On this trip we were just walking past and decided to stop for a few moments.
