Logis de France Hotel-Restaurant Euzkadi Ostatua by Beausoleil
We passed this hotel and loved their menu so returned to make a lunch reservation and then for lunch. It was raining and very chilly so we returned early and waited by their wonderful lobby fireplace until the restaurant opened. Lunch was delicious.

La Poste (the Post Office) in Espelette by Beausoleil
Even the Post Office is picturesque in a Plus Beau Village. We were in Espelette on a very rainy day and it was still beautiful. I'd love to return on a bright sunny day,

Beautiful traditional Basque hotel in central Espelette with a great restaurant. We eventually came back for lunch. They had a lovely fireplace in the lobby on a cold, rainy day.

Picturesque hotel in Espelette by Beausoleil
Nearly everything in Espelette is picturesque. This is a hotel just off a main square and I loved the red decorations with the red chairs out front. It was raining pretty heavily so no one was sitting outside.

Pottoka, the bar-restaurant where we had breakfast in Espelette by Beausoleil
This is a block or two from parking and was open early so local clerks and shopkeepers could get something to eat before starting work. We joined them for breakfast on a very cold, rainy day in Espelette.

Most of the shops and houses have peppers hanging outside. It is one of the very picturesque features of this small, but lovely, Plus Beau Village in the Basque country of France.
