Home - Our gite near Mollégès by Beausoleil
This was our home for the week. We've stayed here before and loved it. The couple who run it are so nice and the place is out in the country with lots of land and peace and quiet. It is about a five-minute drive into Mollégès where you can get anything you need. It's just perfect and a great place to explore the entire Alpilles region.

Trèbes - Watching the coronation of King Charles III on the news by Beausoleil
This was a day of driving from one gite to another. We finally settled in, ate dinner and turned on the news to see what we had missed during the day. It was the coronation of King Charles III but we saw some on the evening news in France.

Trèbes - One of the Gite chickens by Beausoleil
Our gite was directly on the Aude River and had a large yard. There was a wonderful vegetable garden, a rose garden and a pen with a few chickens in it. I love to paint chickens (pictures of them, not the actual birds) so I was delighted. This was between the Aude River and the Canal du Midi with lots of shops and restaurants within a couple blocks.

Our gite was directly on the Aude River and had a large yard. There was a wonderful vegetable garden, a rose garden and a pen with a few chickens in it. I love to paint chickens (pictures of them, not the actual birds) so I was delighted. This was between the Aude River and the Canal du Midi with lots of shops and restaurants within a couple blocks.

Trèbes - Église Saint-Étienne by Beausoleil
Our gite was directly on the Aude River and had a large yard. There was a wonderful vegetable garden, a rose garden and a pen with a few chickens in it. I love to paint chickens (pictures of them, not the actual birds) so I was delighted. This was between the Aude River and the Canal du Midi with lots of shops and restaurants within a couple blocks. The church was very friendly and they served coffee in the sanctuary before Mass, something we've never seen before.

Gite La Truffière du Portail on a truffle farm near Tourtoirac in France - just perfect by Beausoleil
One of our favorite gites so far. It was spotless and the view from the terrace was fabulous. The three ladies running it were wonderful and the tour of their truffle farm was great fun and very educational. Haras du Godet - our gite for the week with a pond across the driveway and lots of horses by Beausoleil
This was a Norman stud farm (haras) that had a gite available. It was in the perfect location and I love horses so we grabbed it. We were delighted to discover it came with a cat and interestingly, the cat was named Mimi which is the name of our little cat at home.

Le Petit Moulin Kersigalec - our home for the week by Beausoleil
Ed trying to open the trick door to our gite. He quickly mastered it when we got locked in and wanted out. The little house sits next to a tiny lake and we had our own little boat on the lake. The owners were lovely; the cottage was perfect and we were out in the quiet and beautiful Breton countryside near the center of Brittany so we could visit anything. Perfect.

Spire View, our home in Lacock by Beausoleil
We rented Spire View while we were in Lacock and it is within walking distance of the village although there are no sidewalks so we didn't walk since we could park easily at the National Trust parking lot in town. Yes, that is a swimming pool although it was cold enough we did not use it. It is a lovely little house in a great situation. Our only complaint was that the kitchen was downstairs and the eating area was upstairs. There were no chairs on the ground floor so you did carry everything upstairs to eat. On the other hand, it was spotless and very comfortable; the location was perfect and the landlady was very friendly and helpful. You could, in fact, see the spire of St. Cyriac's Church in Lacock from the upstairs windows.

Locking up our lovely gite for the last time by Beausoleil
Le Petit Ormeau, rue du Port, 24510 Limeuil, France was a marvelous weekly rental. Ofelia, one of the owners, is an artist and has decorated the house with her wonderful paintings. The views are fabulous and you are right in the center of the Plus Beau Village of Limeuil. Absolutely loved it.

Gite Le Petit Ormeau in Limeuil by Beausoleil
This gite is a renovated 16th century village house perched on the ramparts of the ancient village. You have a commanding view of the valley and very easy access to the entire village. It includes covered parking which is a joy when you are packing or unpacking in the rain. The owners are just wonderful and the place is perfect for two or three people.

A foggy start to the day. by Beausoleil
Just up the road from our gite was this little farm and the donkey greeted us every morning as we drove out. The fog persisted in early mornings for most of our week near the river Lot.

Le Moulin des Landes, our Gite for the Week by Beausoleil
Some photos of our accommodation. The roses greeted us and stayed lovely the entire week. We only lost one of them. It is a restored windmill and was just perfect. The hostess was very accommodating and kind.

Yes, we rented the whole thing . . . It was really cheap out of season and they had a cute cat, horses, ponies, sheep and chickens in addition to apple trees.
