It’s Saturday - wedding day - this is a fireman’s wedding by Beausoleil
If you travel in France on a Saturday, you are almost guaranteed to see a wedding someplace. This was at Saint-Étienne-du-Grès and a local fireman and his colleagues were celebrating. The civil ceremony is at the Mairie or town hall and often followed by a church ceremony and always followed by a party.
Guingamp - look at the windows in the building beside the town hall by Beausoleil
The Guingamp Mairie (town hall) is a former Augustinian Monastery and quite beautiful. When we walked downtown, we admired it but failed to notice the building perpendicular to it. Walking back up to our car, we immediately noticed the figues in the windows of the adjacent building. Great fun!

Crêperie la Duchesse Anne - notable for the cute little tower by Beausoleil
I love little towers and this really caught my eye. Surely a duchess should live here. It is directly beside the Cathedral.

The Basilica of Notre Dame de Bon Secours in Guingamp by Beausoleil
This is variously referred to as a basilique and a cathedral. I'm not sure if there is a bishop in residence or not. You need a bishop to have a cathedral so perhaps it is a basilica. It is the main monument in the town of Guingamp and well worth a visit.

The Mairie de Guingamp (city hall) by Beausoleil
The town hall was formerly an Augustinian monastery and is now a very beautiful town hall. This, the beautiful Cathedral and the diverse architecture make Guingamp a fascinating visit. Guingamp means white camp. In the druid cosmogony, this signified a spiritual centre. If you're an English speaker, it's hard not to think Guincamp because the word camp is so ubiquitous in the USA.

Mairie in Daglan by Beausoleil
Noted for it's medieval tower, this is the town hall of Daglan. There is a large parking lot just past the Tourist Information Office, Maison de la Pierre Seche. Park and walk into town. A right turn near the Mairie will take you to the 14th century church of Saint Martin (follow the steeple) where you can find a carved wooden statue and a cute garden across the street. Daglan is not one of the Plus Beaux Villages of France, but it is a Ville Fleuri and exceptionally pretty. There is a park along the Céou River where you can picnic if you like.

Tour de la Mairie in Belvès by Beausoleil
Amazing tower at the Mairie in Belvès. It was the former Couvent des Frères Prêcheurs and there is a school behind it.
