Essaouira Gare Routiere workers stop for prayers. by Bennytheball

A good muslim is expected to pray five times daily at the mosque, but this is not always a practical proposition, so the faithful at the city bus station pause their duties, lay down prayer mats and remove shoes, before answering the call to prayer from the nearest mosque, one reason why the buses always run late!

Because of their acquired immunity to poisonous snake venom they are often asked to clear snakes from rural villages to avoid children at play being bitten.
