A lonely tuba player passing through Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine by Beausoleil
It was late in the day and we wondered where this lone tuba player was headed going through the Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine. We hoped he was going home for dinner but suspect he was headed out for his evening work.

Buskers on the Pont St. Louis by Beausoleil
There are nearly always buskers of some sort here as it is tourist central. Some people may not like it but we think it's fun. I hope they make a living doing something else though. With Notre Dame in the background, you can't go wrong. We even saw a fellow once that had wheeled a real piano onto the bridge. His piano tuner must love him.

After leaving the Roman Baths, we started looking for lunch. The Crystal Palace on Abbey Street had been recommended and we were delighted to find this wonderful guitar player on the square outside the pub.

Eglise Notre Dame de Nanteuil in Montrichard by Beausoleil
These are three of the musicians in the choir/organ loft. It was a very impressive baptism. One of the uncles of the baby was a trumpet player and we got to talk to him after the service.

Basque musicians at a festival in Sare by Beausoleil
We first arrived in Sare to discover a festival had taken over the village. The square was set with tables and there were red-bereted musicians playing. There was also a carnival in the local parking lot so no parking available.

Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) All the Chinese sculptures seemed to be happy until around 900 or the end of the Tang Dynasty. Then they became very angry and warlike looking. I wonder what happened? The following Liao Dynasty must have been very different.
