Dancing in Place Saint Sulpice à l'ombre on Saturday evening by Beausoleil
We rented an apartment a block up the street and on Saturday evenings, someone brought a boom box and played music and anyone who wanted to join them, could dance. Some weeks there were quite a few and other weeks not many. The music was very French and very fun.

Lunch at Chez Juliette on Place Saint Louis by Beausoleil
We were looking for a recommended fish restaurant and never did find it so followed the crowd to this busy place. We were not disappointed although we did not have fish.

Place de la Libertè in Tourtoirac by Beausoleil
Tiny square in the center of Tourtoirac. There are a couple restaurants and some parking. Up the street one way is the Abbey and the other way is a town market once a week.

Saint-Malo . . . Place du Marché aux Légumes by Beausoleil
We were visiting Brittany for a week and wanted to revisit Saint-Malo so on a sunny morning we drove northeast to the city. We parked near the ferry port, entered through Porte Dinan and found a nice restaurant for lunch before walking through the Old Town section. It couldn't have been a more perfect Fall day. Loved the big bear having coffee. We've seen them in Paris. They seem to be vacationing now.
Place de Fürstenberg with art installation by Beausoleil
The Delacroix Museum is located off Place de Fürstenberg and a sculpture by Aaron Nachtailer from Argentina called "One Cubic Meter of Sunflowers - 2019" was installed on the tiny square. It was an installation of branches, stones and ropes.

Sculpture installation on Place de Fürstenberg by Beausoleil
Place de Fürstenberg, right around the corner from Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a quiet, peaceful little square in central Paris where we love to escape the crowds. On this visit there was an art installation that was supposed to be sunflowers but reminded us of Stonehenge. As everything in Paris, it was interesting. Just off this tiny square is the hidden entrance to the Delacroix Museum which is well worth a visit. It's free the first Sunday of the month and seldom crowded. There is also a lovely garden inside the museum, one of the Hidden Gardens of Paris.
La Place Georges-Moustaki and Fontaine Guy Lartigue by Beausoleil
This was our little shopping area at the base of rue Mouffetard. We had an apartment nearby and got to know the boulanger, pharmacist, a couple nice restaurants and attended Saint Medard church on the square. It is a very welcoming place and there is dancing to live music on Sundays at the square.

The Eiffel Tower from Place de Catalogne near Montparnasse station by Beausoleil
We were walking back from lunch when we looked up and saw the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Since we were on our way to see Notre Dame du Travail, built by Eiffel Tower workers, it seemed appropriate.

A lonely tuba player passing through Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine by Beausoleil
It was late in the day and we wondered where this lone tuba player was headed going through the Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine. We hoped he was going home for dinner but suspect he was headed out for his evening work.
Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine by Beausoleil
Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine is a busy market square in the Marais near the Place des Vosges. The Place des Vosges is beautiful but always crowded. Place Ste. Catherine is crowded during markets but quite peaceful on other days. It is a respite from crowds in an ever-more-crowded-city.

Place Baudoyer, a market place beside Église Saint Gervais et Saint Protais by Beausoleil
When you exit St. Gervais and turn right, you come to a narrow street you follow for one block to Place Baudoyer. It is a lovely market open on Wednesday and Saturday and one of very few markets open in the afternoons. The other side opens to rue de Rivoli.

Place Dauphine on the Île de la Cité by Beausoleil
We love the Place Dauphine because it is one of the quiet places in Paris. This bicycle has been placed as a sign and seems very appropriate to the city.
