Rue de Steinkerque walking from Anvers Metro to Sacre Cœur by Beausoleil

When you exit the Anvers Metro Station, you climb rue de Steinkerque past cheesy cloth shops and cheesier souvenir shops up to Place St. Pierre with the snow-white Sacre Cœur looming above. If you want souvenirs, this may be the place although there are more shops at the top on Place du Tertre and surrounding Sacre Cœur.

Eiffel Tower Mania at Place du Trocadéro by Beausoleil

We had lunch on the Place du Trocadéro and then walked over to see the Eiffel Tower. You pass a lot of tourists, tourist shops, buskers and various sellers of souvenirs before you get to the tower but it's all great fun. It may be the perfect place for photos and certainly for selfies if you take those.

Rocamadour, the village by Beausoleil

Unfortunately, my camera settings got changed when I bumped it so the photos are pretty bad until I discovered the problem. Rocamadour is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has also been a pilgrimage site on the 'Way of Saint James" for hundreds of years. It exists on three levels climbing a near vertical cliff. There is an elevator from level 1 to level 2 and an escalator to the top. You may climb 216 steps from level 1 to level 2 (on your knees if you are a pilgrim) and there is a beautiful "Way of the Cross" from level 2 to the top.

Bleu Soleil, a shop in Rocamadour that reminded me of Beausoleil, our name by Beausoleil

Leather shop in la Cité by Beausoleil

This was about a block from our B&B and the cute coat in the middle was tempting us to buy it for our daughter until we looked at the price. Temptation gone . . . but it was lovely.
