Due to the Guatemalan elections no alcohol is allowed to be sold to anyone from midday Saturday, throughout Sunday (day of election) until Monday. Luckily, if you ask nicely and sit at the back of the bar... you can drink as many Cuba Libres (rum, coke & lime) as you like... and yes we did!
