8th and Nicollet Ave S, Minneapolis, MN, US 1978 - Minneapolis by dromosapien Star this if you like it!

8th & Nicollet Ave S, Minneapolis, Minnesota, US 1978 7th & Nicollet Ave -looking south to 8th Street. On the right, beyond the former *Dayton’s Department Store, the 800 block of Nicollet was demolished about 1987 to build The Conservatory, a shopping mall labyrinth, which was razed ten years later to build a financial services building on what once was a shopping avenue. * Dayton’s Department Store, (700 Nicollet Ave) the flagship department store of Minneapolis, was established in 1902, merged with J L Hudson in 1969, bought Marshall Field's of Chicago in 1990 and alienated its local customers when it changed its name to the nationally more prestigious Marshall Field’s in 2001. And it was all downhill from there. In 2004 the store chain was sold and renamed Macy’s. The downtown Minneapolis Macy's store closed 19 March 2017.
