Two ancient yew trees flanking an entrance and a stained glass window by Beausoleil Star this if you like it!
St Edward's parish church, beside the Stow Lodge Hotel-Restaurant, is celebrating the 900th anniversary of the town's first stone-built church. There is not a lot in the church that has survived the 900 years. St Edward's has a relatively modest tower that is eighty-eight feet in height. It was completed in 1447 and contains eight bells. Inside the church is a large painting of The Crucifixion on the south wall that was painted in 1610 by the Gaspard de Craeyer (1582-1669) of Antwerp, and presented to the church in 1838 by a member of the Chamberlayne family.
