The Orsay is in the former Gare d'Orsay, a Beaux-Arts train station built between 1898 and 1900. The museum holds mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914, including paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. It is where you will find most of the Impressionist paintings you want to see. The other place in Paris to find a lot of Impressionists is the Marmottan-Monet Museum in the 16 arrondissement (district). I highly recommend both museums.
