Café Bergamote on rue Montfaucon by Beausoleil Star this if you like it!

Our favorite reasonably-priced restaurant in Paris used to be La Bastide d'Opio and it closed last year. It has been replaced by a private club but the chef moved to Café Bergamote on rue Montfaucon near a favorite hotel in St. Germain so we decided to visit and see if it would take the place of our beloved restaurant. The food was fine but the ambience just wasn't there. Very sad but life goes on. We searched restaurants and still have some old favorites. Our absolute favorite is excellent but too expensive for multiple visits so we save it for once-a-trip fabulous meals. This is La Bonne Excuse on rue Verneuil and it is very special, certainly well worth the extra expense.
