Married women with a son and daughter. Passion for travel began with hitch hiking round Europe in the 1960s when I was 19 and continued after I met my husband. Did the usual package holidays with the family over the years. Mortgage and work gets in the way of serious travel but since we retired have done a 12 month round the world back packing trip and 4 month travelling around Europe. 3 month in the Canary Island last year. We are off to Africa for 3 months from October travelling with an organized group in a truck and camping for 6 weeks Cape Town to Nairobi, then 6 weeks on the Kenya coast.

  Travel, camping,reading,sailing,windsurfing,ice and roller skating,Family history,social hiking,keeping fit.

• Favourite places:

  There are so many but one stands out which was taking a sailing boat to the Great Barrier Reef in OZ and snorkling, the beauty of the reef is beyond belief, one of the most amazing days of my life just perfect.
  Taj Mahal at sunrise.
  Lapland the reindeer visited our campsite every day it was sureal.
  I could go on and on.
