• Germany-Amsterdam 2006 - Quick visit in August to see family and friends in Germany with a side trip to Amsterdam. Be patient - still working on blog.
• Germany-Paris-Vienna 2004 - My first trip to Germany. Spent a couple of days in Paris, Vienna, and Munich.
• North Shore Lake Superior - While working up on the North Shore, I was able to enjoy the city of Duluth and some of the beautiful states parks along Lake Superior. This blog is mostly about the different places I throw rocks ;)
• Southeast US - On long weekends while working in Tennesse, I went rock climbing, hiking, skydiving, caving, hit the beach, took scenic drives (and more!) in the surrounding states.
• Pacific Northwest 2004 - Took a quick road trip out to the Pacific Northwest states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Stopped at a few parks including Crater Lake, Mount St Helens, and Mount Rainier with lots of geology stops.
• Estes Park 2006 - We had a week long family reunion in Estes Park, Colorado and spent every day doing something different in the mountains - from hiking to horseback riding.
• Stuttgart-Schwartzwald-Zurich 2007 - I took a much needed (but short) vacation and spent a week in Stuttgart with my relatives. I enjoy the German culture I get to experience when staying with my family. We also took a nice drive through the Black Forest and I took a day trip to Zurich, Switzerland.
• Colorado Springs - Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and Royal Gorge - all after-work excursions.
• Minnesota - travels around the state - I currently live and work in Minnesota and often travel throughout the state taking pictures where ever I go. Hope you enjoy this beautiful state.
• Southwest US - I came to New Mexico for work and had a couple of days off to explore. I started with Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands. I also found a great canyon perfect for climbing and exploring near Socorro.
• Germany, Italy, Austria, Denmark - all in two weeks? - This trip was inspired by cheap airfare to Europe. My friend and I decided to try to see as much as we could in two weeks. The plan is to see geology and culture in Bolzano, Cinque Terra, Rome, Pompeii, Vienna, Stuttgart, Munich, Nurnberg, Kiel and Mons Klint in Denmark. Whew!
• Wisconsin - Wisconsin - my home state. I have lots of fond memories growing up in rural western Wisconsin and family trips all over the state.
• Upper Midwest - This collection of photos is a combination of my many travels through the upper midwest.
• Working out West - I'm spending a little over a month in Utah and Nevada for work. The views are great but I don't have much free time to explore.
• Chico 1993-2008 - I am so sad. My little bird of 15 years just passed away. Here is my tribute to him with my favorite photos and videos of him over the last few years.
• Spring Break down South 2005 - As part of my goal to see all 50 states, I decided to head south for Spring Break so I could check off Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. Most of my stops were geology related :)
• Amigas Bonita do Peru - Amazing trip to Peru that included the Amazon rainforest, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca.
• Misadventures returning back to school - I decided to go back to school to finish my degree, after almost 4 years being out of school. Here are some of my distractions along the way.
• Mall of America - I live close to MOA so I decided to put a bunch of MOA reviews all in one place.
• Flat Daniel takes flight - a mini adventure with my little cousin in flat, paper form.
• The Tracy job - 9 weeks and counting - I spent 9 weeks in southwestern Minnesota for work in Fall 2008 and resumed in Spring 2009. We worked a lot, but saw plenty of nature.
• North Shore hiking, camping and geocaching - I planned a short camping trip to the North Shore of Lake Superior so I could do the geocaching in the State Parks. I hit 10 Minnesota state parks and a couple parks in Canada.
• Minnesota State Fair meetup August 2009 - The Great Minnesota Get-Together, where you can get just about anything on a stick. Our group was small but we had fun and ate a lot!
• Labor Day Weekend Road Trip - Took a road trip up north to Lake of the Woods on the Minnesota/Canada border. Went geocaching, hiking and camping.
• Tampa for the weekend - Family weekend in Tampa with a tour of the city from Old School Bill.
• Hudson Hot Air Affair - Hot air balloons rise in mass ascension during this premier winter ballooning event. The day was spent geocaching and watching the balloons with the_Bill.
• Interstate Park and St. Croix River Valley - Interstate Parks in Minnesota and Wisconsin are full of neat geology and nice hikes and located an hour from the Twin Cities.
• Sakura and Sake - Japan 2010 - A week of peak cherry blossoms in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. Visited many temples, ate lots of different food, and saw the sights.
• Memorial Weekend State Park Tour - A quick trip of camping, hiking and geocaching in the state parks of Western Minnesota
• The River Tour - Twin Cities Bronze - Twin Cities Bronze handbell ensemble tour along the Mississippi River.
• Icelandic Weekend - A short trip to Iceland for the TB meetup, Golden Circle Tour and Blue Lagoon
• Minnesota's Iron Range - Camping and geocaching over Labor Day Weekend up on the Iron Range with visits to many iron mines and state parks.
• GCF2011 Europa - 10 countries in 10 days - Visited Cologne, Luzern, Prague and many places in between.
• Maine and New Brunswick - Quick visit to Maine and New Brunswick to see the giant tides of Fundy, go hiking, and visit a friend.
• Mostly Utah National Parks - 2013 - A trip to the American southwest to visit the Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon and the National Parks of southern Utah.
• Loveland or Bust! TCB tour 2014 - Twin Cities Bronze tour to Loveland, Colorado
• San Diego - A visit to San Diego with a friend for some sightseeing and geocaching.
• Western Road Trip 2015 - Week 1 - South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho - Week 1 of a 4 week Western US/Canada road trip. Main stops include Badlands NP, the Black Hills, Yellowstone NP and Craters of the Moon.
• Antarctica 2017 - Travbuddy cruise, plus Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay
