I left the US in 2005 after finishing an MFA in creative writing. The plan was to spend a couple of years teaching abroad, saving money, and finding myself. Since then, I've never moved back home. Instead, I've taught in seven different countries, saved and spent copious (relatively) amounts of money, and discovered the finding myself will be a lifelong process.

• Hobbies:

  I like normal things like reading, writing, playing guitar, jogging, cooking, and traveling. Perhaps less expected, I also enjoy juggling, lizard tattoos, cornhole (the game not prison version), ukulele, and general beardiness.

• Favourite places:

  Istanbul, Melaka, Memphis, Paris, Rome, Chiapas, Zipolite, Earth Lodge, Semuc Champey, Moscow, Laguna Beach, San Francisco, Portland, London, Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Joshua Tree, the mountains, the coast, a lake, or some form of transportation heading to somewhere new.
